Scotiabank's U.S. operations are coordinated through the U.S. Corporate business line, which is part of our Global Corporate and Investment Banking unit. We also provide a broad range of financial product support through our Global Capital Markets business unit. Scotiabank's offices in the U.S. do not provide retail or consumer deposit, account, or cash services and cannot assist with account inquires or servicing needs of retail accounts held in other countries.
In the United States, we operate through teams of Relationship Managers and Product Specialists working together to offer multi-product solutions to clients' financial needs. Having operated in the U.S. for over fifty years, we also provide other key financial products and services to U.S.-based clients, including a newly expanded U.S. equities platform and Global Fixed Income Rates team. We also have Primary Dealer status in several key countries including the U.S. to help build out our fixed income business in the region.
Our U.S. division is organized by industry group, which enables us to become experts in both an individual company's needs, as well as the industry in which it operates. In the U.S. we have eight nation-wide industry groups. These include:
