In Canada, our classroom- based Capital Ideas program is designed to give new recruits an understanding of the products/services we offer. As a new member of the Scotiabank team, you will learn to recognize clients' issues and the steps involved in providing our clients' with innovative solutions. You will gain the necessary knowledge of the products/services used within your area of specialization and gain a high level overview of the products and services we offer. Throughout the training, you will have the opportunity to build an internal network amongst all business lines as well as an opportunity to meet some of Scotiabank's executive and senior members.
For new graduates hired by our Sales & Trading division you will complete an 11 month rotation, which may include a stint in either New York or London. If you are a new graduate hired by Investment Banking/M&A, you'll enjoy a hands-on learning experience as either a generalist or an industry specialist, depending on the area for which you are recruited.
Outside of Canada, corporate lending and other capital markets opportunities are available to new graduates in London, New York, Chicago and other major U.S. cities. All three streams provide hands-on learning and are designed to give you responsibilities to refine your skills right from the beginning of your career. That's what we call the Scotiabank difference!
